How about these professionally managed vacation rentals?

“Back in the day” seems to be a phrase heard more and more often.  As life, and living, gets busier and busier, we boomers are more likely to reminisce about the innocence of our youth, but when Bachelor Gulch, Colorado was first settled, we’re talking way back in the day; back before ski resorts and easy living.

During the early 1900’s, three crusty old bachelors journeyed west until they arrived in the Vail Valley. John Anderson, Gunder Berg, Ed Howard, John Mertz and Ferdinand "Crippled" Smith were the original bachelors who settled the area. As a matter of fact, some of the original cabins are still standing in Bachelor Gulch Village.  Logging, grazing, trapping and hay farming provided a living during the 1900s. until the Great Depression. Long before ski runs were cut and the plush houses and hotels were built, there was a group of unmarried men who called Bachelors Gulch home. Lettuce became the crop of substance up until the Great Depression. The loss of income proved to be untimely.  The bachelors gradually moved on.

For nearly 50 years, Bachelor Gulch remained quiet and abandoned.  In 1995, Bachelor Gulch Village was conceived. Through hard work, effective marketing and an idyllic setting, this resort has become a vacation destination for avid skiers and snow lovers.

Today, Bachelor Gulch is considered a premier resort village. Located at Beaver Creek Resort, the breath taking beauty is ever present, however, winter months are considered the season. The skiing is amazing, with slopes to challenge beginners or pros. So, what’s your pleasure? Skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, sledding or snowshoeing, you can always find something to do in Bachelor Gulch.
