About Newport Beach, California

South of Los Angeles and Anaheim is the coastal city of Newport Beach. Here is the largest recreational harbor on the west coast, leaving you with nearly endless opportunities for what you can do while you stay. There is nowhere better for you and your family to book your vacation rental at than here with all its family friendly activities if you're looking for a quiet beachside vacation!

Beachgoers have always come to Newport Beach since 1905. The beach is renowned for its surfing as the waves make it easy to learn. There are also surfing and bodysurfing lessons for those who are looking for some guidance before hitting the waves! There is also Huntington Beach right next to Newport Beach if you want to explore other beaches. Fishermen will find Balboa Pier and Newport Pier to be a great spot to try casting their lines! If you catch anything, you should also try attending one of the two Saturday morning farmer’s markets to get the best produce to go with your fish!

If you have a boat, you should try going to one of the public boat launches on Newport Harbor. This is also where the largest recreational harbor is. There are also plenty of boating events that happen throughout the year, like competitive rowing, that you may find interesting! Or if you feel like going on a tour, there are whale watching opportunities all around the harbor. If you feel like exploring the land, you should start with around Upper Newport Bay. The trails surrounding this bay have a network of trails perfect for bikers, walkers, and rollerbladers. If you don’t have a bike or no way to bring one, you can rent one from the one of the various vendors on Balboa Peninsula. If you’re interested in birdwatching, you should head to Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve or Crystal Cove State Park.

You should also try out Newport Center for entertainment desires! Here they have Fashion Island, a regional shopping and entertainment destination. There’s also the Orange County Museum of Art that focuses on Californian art. There are plenty of seafood restaurants that you’ll definitely enjoy. If you’re up for a round of gold, the Pelican Hill has two different golf courses that you can try your hand at for an afternoon or more!
