Prince Edward Island Vacation Rentals

Vacation Rental Homes, Condos, Cabins, Villas & Beach Houses in Prince Edward Island from top rental companies and trusted homeowners.

Prince Edward Island, one of Canada's Maritime Provinces on the Eastern Coast, is a quintessential island, with beaches and lighthouses, its own special brand of ice cream, abundant water views and great seafood. But PEI, as it's known by its residents, is also a popular destination for fisherman, artists, historians and nature lovers.

In addition, PEI is beloved by literary fans of L.M. Montgomery, the Canadian author who created Anne of Green Gables. Even though the original book was fiction, few visits to PEI are complete without a trip to the Green Gables House in Cavendish, which has been restored to match its literary counterpart.

Getting to PEI is easy: You can arrive by plane from major Canadian cities or by ferry from Caribou, Nova Scotia. But you can also drive across the spectacular eight-mile bridge from the mainland. It's the longest bridge in the world that crosses over sometimes frozen waters. Confederation Bridge is an engineering marvel and you'll want to visit the nature center at its base in order to appreciate its curved expanse and take some pictures.

Once on the island, take a coastal drive along the shore to visit the numerous small communities that will welcome you like a long-lost friend, stop at cafes for local brew and fresh seafood, explore Prince Edward Island National Park, and walk the windswept expanses of red sand Atlantic beaches. Visit the island's several lighthouses, and learn about their history, or sample award-winning blueberry wine at Rossignol Estates Winery.

Tourist accommodations on PEI range from luxury cottages by the shore to house rentals and condo rentals in Charlottetown, the island's largest city, to more relaxed vacation rentals in other communities. For a unique experience with a homey vibe, look for vacation rental by owner accommodations in a private home. Chances are you'll find someone willing to share with you the special treats of this unique island.

There are many special treats: Hike the dunes, visit the galleries and museums or attend a concert at Confederation Centre of the Arts, be awed by the beauty of the century-old St. Dunstan's Cathedral, schedule a visit to one of PEI's working farms, book a boat tour or rent a kayak, or attend a performance at the College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts.

You won't ever want for entertainment, and you'll find plenty of time -- and ways -- to just relax and drink in the beauty of your surroundings. PEI is that kind of place!
