In the northern New York lies the small town of Pulaski. Found just north of Syracuse on the Salmon River, this is the perfect spot for you to get away from the usual mundane life and become immersed in nature.
The Salmon river is a great spot to start your visit here. It runs right through the middle of town and isn’t hard to find. This river is super popular for fishing as salmon tend to spawn here attracting sport fishers and casual fishers alike. The river is also wide enough to try tubing or boating. All you need to do is just let the flow of the river pull you as far as you’d like, and swimmers can swim near the shore. Summertime attracts a lot of tourists here as a lot of tourists tend to go to the nearby Lake Ontario for water activities. This is the ultimate spot to do all your water activities on the great lakes with the nearby public boat launch!
The best spots to go hiking are at Sandy Island Beach State Park and Selkirk Shores State Park. Both have trails that will offer plenty of picturesque views of Ontario, with beaches on the great lake. In winters you can go snowshoeing in both and snowmobiling at Sandy Island. At Selkirk, you can find room to play a few sports, like baseball! At Sandy Island, you’ll find a golf course range and many historical landmarks if you’re interested in learning the areas past!
If you’re in the mood for a live performance or movie, you should head to Kallet Theater and Conference Center. This 19th century theater is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy some drinks while watching anything from murder mysteries to side-busting comedies!
