Depending on where you choose your vacation rental by owner, Russia can be an affordable option. Here are some other reasons you might want to consider Russia for your next vacation or move.

Beaches

Russia is a huge country with several different climates. There are even subtropical beaches that you may want to consider vacation rentals nearby, including Tatyshev Island.

Arts

Throughout history, Russia has presented the world with some of the best classical composers. Russia’s fourth largest city, Yekaterinburg, is a huge cultural hub with many theatres, dance companies, and even famous, Russian bands.

Sports

Sochi is great for winter sports, but it will host the 2018 World Cup. It also hosts the Russian Formula One Grand Prix. Winter sports, such as ice hockey and ice skating are popular with Russians. It will not be hard to find a cross country skiing destination anywhere in the colder parts of the country.

Trans Siberian Railway

If you ride the entire length, you won’t need to worry about house rentals or condo rentals because you can sleep and shower on the trains. The railway ends almost at the North Korean border.

History

Russia has no shortage of history. In fact, every area and city has their own personalities thanks to rich history. Yekaterinburg is the site of the execution of Russia’s last czar during the Russian Revolution in 1918. Veliky Novgorod is one of the oldest cities in the north, having been founded in the tenth century. It claims to be the birth place of Russia. Irkutsk, in Eastern Siberia, was once where intellectuals went into exile, and evidence can be seen still today with its five universities and several museums. Kazan is where European and Asian cultures have met throughout history, and its unique culture lives true to this today.

Food and drink

The ruble deflated in 2014, so eating out is more affordable than before in Russia, including the most expensive city, Moscow. Some of the dishes that you must try include bacon fat with rye bread, garlic, and vodka. For a wide variety of traditional Russian food, check out Dacha Na Pokrovke in Moscow. Their menu includes stuffed pies, herring, apple and celery salad, and of course, Russia’s most famous food, borscht.

Russia is an affordable place to live depending where you are. Since it is such a big country, there is a lot to do and see, as well as catering to people who like different climates.
