In the center of Adams county and directly north of the city of Adams is the town of Friendship. A quaint name where the residents inhabit the nature of their town name. Directly bordering the town is Friendship Lake and to the west is Castle Rock Lake. To the north you’ll find the Friendship Mound, formed by the glaciers of the Ice Age, and a few miles further Roche-A-Cri Mound which is hidden inside the Roche-A-Cri State Park.
In the summer, you can explore the recreational areas on ATV, hiking, or horseback! You can make your way out to one of the 23 rock formations which will make for a great photo opportunity. This is the true way to see the peace and beauty of Adams County. If you find yourself in the mood for a picnic: the perfect place to do this is in Friendship Park!
If you feel like having some fun with the water, then you need to check out Friendship Lake! You can go start your day off with spending time on the public beach! This 125-acre lake also has a boat landing that you can take your boats and pontoons out to cruise around on or go tubing out there! If you have your fishing license, this is the lake to go when fishing for Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Panfish, or Walleye!
If you come here in the winter, you can go downhill skiing, tubing, or snowboarding at either of the two mounds! If you miss the trails that you can explore in summer, then you could consider going snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. You can also go snowmobiling and go tubing behind that if you have an innertube and a snowmobile! Friendship is an awesome place to go with your family and friends all-year long!
