Amidst the mountains and lakes of western Maine, lies the hidden gem of Bridgton. Bridgton is 41,000 acres of mountains and water. While in Bridgton, you should check out Mount Pleasant, which contains Shawnee Peak Ski Area, regardless of the time of year. This area offers 40 different trails, three terrain parks, and seven glades that are begging to be explored! In winters, you can cross country ski across the trails or snowmobile on the frozen lake and through the woods. In summers, you can go hiking, pick blueberries, and play in or on the water at places like Long Lake, Woods Pond, and Moose Pond. With all these locations, you'll be spending a lot of your vacation experiencing new places! 
When you've had enough of going out and experiencing nature, you should check out downtown Bridgton! Here is the Gallery 302 which is an artist co-op hosting many different artists' works; there is also Rufus Porter Museum which contains the murals of artist and inventor Rufus Porter. The Bridgton area is made up of Bridgton, North Bridgton, South Bridgton, Sandy Creek and West Bridgton. To the east of Bridgton is Long Lake, which flows to Sebago Lake and the Atlantic Ocean. Long Lake is fed by Stevens Brook which in turn is fed by Highland Lake which is just a little west of downtown Bridgton.
West Bridgton includes part of Pleasant Mountain, which includes the Shawnee Park Ski area.
