To the south is Cove Lake State Park, a 667 acre park that you can explore the trails, feed the geese, or visit the earthen remnants of the ancient Mound Builders. You can begin your adventure here on the Cumberland Trail State Park; this trail cuts across 11 Tennessee counties so you’ll need to be careful you don’t get to lost in the scenery and end up miles from where you live! If you fancy a picnic, there are plenty of areas in the park that are perfect for a picnic! If you’d rather have someone cook for you while here, you can check out Rickard Ridge’s BBQ! If you feel like fishing, the park rents out boats for fishing or you may bring your own and set off from the launch. There’s no better way to spend your afternoons than reeling bluegill, bass, and crappies and you’ll find plenty of luck here! If you would prefer a park that’s smaller and closer to your vacation rental, then you can go to Lonas Young Memorial Park to find the same picnic and fishing opportunities!  

To the north you’ll find the North Cumberlands WMA. Here you can explore the Cumberland Mountains to your hearts contents anyway you want! This multi-use trail allows you to you to traverse the mountains any time of day as fast or slow as you want.
