Wineries and tasting rooms can be found in four main areas of the city. Downtown, the west side, the east side, and south side of town as well as distillers throughout the county combine to make Walla Walla Valley a wine country worthy of a visit. There’s more to Walla Walla than the incredible wines. With plenty of sunshine year-round and moderate temperatures, Walla Walla is the perfect place to enjoy outdoor activities and events. There is biking and hiking trails that include exhilarating rides or leisurely hikes. The downtown section of Walla Walla offers numerous boutiques that are locally owned. There are eclectic shops, wonderful cafes and eateries as well as museums and cultural activities to while away the time. Visitors and tourists find the downtown area so welcoming and inviting.

 The town's rich history began when the Indian tribes first settled this area. By the early 1800’s the pioneers discovered this lush valley. Then there was the boom and bust of a magnificent gold rush. All of these events are brought to life as you stroll through our museums. Music and the arts are a vital part of this vivacious college town, which houses the oldest symphony orchestra west of the Mississippi. Frequent summertime blues and jazz concerts, arts festivals and at least 15 art galleries are part of the Walla Walla persona. A recently revitalized downtown area boasts of restored 19th-century buildings, restaurants, galleries as well as wine-tasting rooms.
