Pull on the towel, follow the garden path past the palms, and the cove opens out a few steps from your living room. Villa Miramar sits on its own private stretch of Caribbean sand in Punta Águila, a quieter pocket on the resort's western coast where the beach is yours and no one else passes through it. Five bedrooms sleep ten, small enough for two couples with their kids or five couples on a long weekend, with an included cook handling all the meals at the villa.
Mornings start with the cove to yourselves: sand on your feet, the water flat, no one else in the bay. The infinity pool runs along the rock edge above the beach, so the group can split between the pool and the swim without anyone having to choose. Lunch happens at the open-air beachfront pavilion, a few feet from where the sand begins. By afternoon some of you settle in at the wooden cabana with a book, others on the covered terrace facing the cove. The double-height living room is cool behind glass through the heat of the day. By sundown the alfresco table seats the full ten for dinner, the sea two paces away.
Punta Águila sits on the resort's western tip, quieter than the core and protected from the prevailing wind, so the cove stays calm and the beach stays empty. A short cart ride brings you to Teeth of the Dog, ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards, and to Minitas Beach Club when the group wants the full-beach scene. Villa Miramar is the villa to book when the priority is a private stretch of Caribbean sand and ten people who'd rather not share it.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is Villa Miramar a good fit for two families travelling together or a small group of couples?
Five bedrooms and five bathrooms sleep ten, with an oceanfront primary suite on the upper floor and additional bedrooms set across the property. The layout works for two families with kids who want their own beach and pool, or four to five couples celebrating a milestone where the group wants a fully private cove rather than a shared beach club. Meals are handled by the included cook, so no one is locked into the kitchen for the holiday.
Q: How does beach access work at Villa Miramar, and is it really a private beach?
Yes. Villa Miramar fronts its own private cove on the Caribbean Sea, with a stretch of white sand reached by a short garden path from the villa. The cove is reserved for the villa's guests only; no one else passes through. Sun loungers, an umbrella, and a thatched beach pavilion with sofas sit on the sand. Minitas Beach Club, with its watersports, restaurants, and lounger service, is a short cart ride away when the group wants the full-resort beach scene.
Q: How close is the villa to the golf, and how do we book tee times?
Teeth of the Dog, ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards, and The Links are both a short cart ride from Villa Miramar. Tee times are arranged through the resort concierge, with green fees paid at the pro shop. The cart ride is short enough that a small foursome can split the morning between the course and the cove without anyone driving across the resort. Dye Fore sits east of the villa near Altos de Chavón.
Q: What's the standout feature of Villa Miramar?
The private cove and the beachfront thatched pavilion. Most Casa de Campo villas put the beach a short ride away; Villa Miramar's cove begins at the foot of the garden, with white sand, sun loungers, an umbrella, and a palapa with red and white sofas set on the sand for long afternoons. The water sits in a protected inlet, so kids can swim and adults can paddle without open-ocean conditions. Combined with the infinity pool at the cove's edge, the wooden cabana, and the covered terrace facing the water, the villa gives a group of ten somewhere different to settle every hour of the day.
