Casa del Lago is the villa for the family trip where the kids run between the pool and the lawn while the grown-ups settle into the verandah, drinks in hand, watching the fairways of The Links come alive across the water. It sits in Los Lagos, on the inland lake that borders the golf course — the lawn slopes down to the water with no road between you and the view. Four en-suite bedrooms sleep eight, with an included cook handling all the meals.
The pool sits at the lakeside edge of the lawn, sunloungers angled to catch the fairway view across the water. Behind it, a covered verandah with white slipcovered armchairs — the afternoon spot while the kids are in the pool. Glass walls fold the rattan sitting room open to the pergola terrace, so lunch moves outdoors without anyone touching a door handle. The formal dining room takes eight under a silver-framed mirror; the kitchen island with rattan bar stools handles the mornings when nobody dresses up. The four en-suite bedrooms each open to the garden through plantation shutters, so the couples, the kids, and the grandparents each find a corner of their own.
Minitas Beach Club is a short cart ride from the door — the shortest beach run in the collection, so a morning with the kids on the sand barely interrupts the day. Altos de Chavón sits the same direction for sunset, a small Mediterranean village above the Chavón river. Teeth of the Dog — ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards — is a quick ride for a tee time. Casa del Lago is the villa to book when the trip needs water at the door, beach within reach, and room for three generations to spread out.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What is the lake at Casa del Lago, and what does the view look like?
Casa del Lago sits directly on an inland lake within the Los Lagos community at Casa de Campo Resort — the same lake that borders The Links golf course. From the pool, the covered verandah, and the garden, the view runs across the water to the fairways on the opposite bank. It is a calm, contained body of water, not the sea, which makes the setting unusually quiet for a villa at the resort. Through the day the fairway activity provides a slow, visual backdrop, and at dusk the water and the palms hold the last of the light long after the sun has dropped.
Q: How close is Casa del Lago to Minitas Beach?
Minitas Beach Club is 0.6 miles from Casa del Lago — a short golf cart ride along resort roads, and one of the closest private villa positions to the resort's private beach. Minitas is reserved for resort guests and includes loungers, towels, watersports, and beachside dining. Day-to-day arrangements such as cart access, beach reservations, and watersport bookings are coordinated through our concierge team.
Q: Is Casa del Lago a good fit for families with young children?
Yes — the layout, the position, and the proximity make Casa del Lago one of the easier family villas at the resort. The lawn slopes down to the lake with no road, fence, or fairway crossing between the house and the water, so younger children can roam between the pool and the garden under direct line of sight from the verandah. The 0.6-mile run to Minitas Beach keeps morning swims short, and the four en-suite bedrooms allow kids to turn in early without the rest of the household keeping quiet. Baby equipment, additional staffing, and family activity reservations can be arranged through our concierge.
Q: How does Casa del Lago work as a base for golf?
Teeth of the Dog and The Links are both 1.8 miles from the villa, and Dye Fore is 1.5 miles — all reached by a short golf cart ride within the resort. Teeth of the Dog is ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards and is the resort's flagship. The Links is visible directly across the lake from the villa, so guests get a daily preview of the fairways before they play. Tee times and green fees are arranged through our concierge with the resort's golf desk.
