Roll up the drive to Casa Aurea and three gables under terracotta tile sit above the trees. The villa sits in Riomar on the west bluff of the Chavón River, with Altos de Chavón a short cart ride south and the Marina a slightly longer one north. Six bedrooms sleep twelve, and an included cook handles all the meals.
Mornings start without a plan. One of you is in the long pool before the rest of the house is awake. Another finds a coffee on the upper terrace while palm fronds catch the early sun. By midday the group has spread across the property and stays that way. No one is chasing anyone down for lunch. By sundown the group has collected at the outdoor bar pavilion. Someone is grilling, someone is pouring drinks. Dinner moves to the cathedral dining hall, where twelve of you sit at one long table while someone else handles the clearing up.
Altos de Chavón sits a short cart ride south. The cobblestone village is a walk-back option after dinner. The Marina is a slightly longer ride the other way for boat days. Dye Fore's fairways run adjacent to the property, with green fees and tee times arranged through the resort concierge; Teeth of the Dog, ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards, is a longer cart ride past the resort core. Casa Aurea is the villa to book when a group wants the cliff between the river and the resort core all to themselves.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How well does Casa Aurea work for a group of twelve travelling together?
Casa Aurea is built for groups of ten to twelve who want to share a villa without constantly being in the same room. The six bedrooms are spread across two floors with en-suite bathrooms, so couples get their own corner, and the outdoor layout reinforces the same idea — main pool, smaller plunge pool around the side, outdoor bar pavilion, and a cathedral dining hall that seats all twelve at one table when the group gathers for dinner. The included cook prepares meals on-site so the group doesn't need to book restaurant reservations every night.
Q: How close is the golf at Casa Aurea — which course is right there?
Dye Fore's fairways run adjacent to the property; the tee complex is a short cart ride from the door. Green fees and tee times are booked through the resort concierge before play. For guests playing Teeth of the Dog — ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards — it's a longer cart ride west through the resort core; The Links Golf Course and the Spa sit at the same distance. Casa Aurea is one of the closest CPH listings to the Dye Fore golf complex.
Q: Can Casa Aurea host a private dinner for the whole group?
Yes — the property is built around hosting. The cathedral-ceiling dining hall seats twelve at one long table indoors, with the open chef's kitchen on the same volume so meals move directly from stove to table. Outdoors, the bar pavilion has a long counter with seating for six and an integrated grill that handles cocktail hour or a full alfresco dinner. The round dining table beside the pavilion seats a smaller group when the evening calls for it. Private chef dinners and cocktail evenings are natural fits; larger gatherings can be arranged with the concierge.
Q: How is Casa Aurea different from other Chavón-side villas in the CPH collection?
The main differentiator is the design language and the multi-zone outdoor layout. Casa Aurea is a recently built contemporary tropical villa — pitched terracotta gables over white volumes with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, cathedral interiors, and organic-modern décor. Other Chavón-area villas in the collection include El Cocotal (sea + Dye Fore views, a more traditional jungle-atrium architecture) and River House (cliff position with twin pools, stone outdoor kitchen, and Caribbean carved-wood character). Casa Aurea suits guests who want the same Altos/Marina position but in a newer design-led villa with the outdoor pavilion, plunge pool, and lap pool laid out as separate zones.
