Vacation Rental Description

The Outpost | Two-level ski house for 12 near Killington & Pico

The Outpost is a rustic modern two-level ski house in Killington, Vermont, about five minutes from both Killington Resort and Pico. Guests also have access to discounted Killington lift tickets and ski or snowboard rental deals, with instructions provided after booking. With five bedrooms, two full kitchens, two big living rooms, and flat parking on nearly two acres, it is set up for ski and ride groups and families who want to be together without feeling crowded.

The home has two full living levels stacked in one building. Each level has its own entry, kitchen, living room, bathroom, and laundry. Many groups make the lower level their main hangout, with a large sectional, 75 inch smart TV, and a dining table that seats about eight. The upper level adds another full kitchen and living room plus more sleeping space, so early risers, kids, and night owls can all have their own corner of the house.

Upstairs you will find an open living and kitchen area with stainless appliances, a dishwasher, microwave, and a long breakfast bar with four stools. The living room has sofa seating, a 75 inch smart TV, and big windows looking into the trees. This level has three bedrooms and one full bath with a tiled shower. One bedroom has a queen bed, dresser, and a desk with an office chair, plus a door out to the wraparound deck. The other two bedrooms are true bunk rooms with custom twin-over-twin bunks with real stairs instead of ladders, one room with a single bunk and the other with two bunks.

The lower level feels like a second full living space. The great room combines a large sectional, a second 75 inch smart TV, a full kitchen with stainless appliances and dishwasher, and a reclaimed-wood style dining table that seats about eight. Two queen bedrooms sit just off the main space. The full bathroom on this level has a tub and shower combination and a stacked washer/dryer, which makes longer stays easier.

At the lower entry there is a dedicated mudroom with a bench, cubbies, and hooks for jackets and helmets. It is designed for skis, boards, and boots so snow and mud stay out of the main spaces. Outside, The Outpost sits on nearly two flat acres with a wraparound deck, two Weber propane grills (one on each level), a seasonal wood firepit, and a private tennis court available in summer. The setting feels quiet and wooded while still being close to the mountain, the Access Road, and groceries.

In terms of comfort, the house has Nectar mattresses, fast WiFi, and plenty of outlets. Both main living rooms have 75 inch smart TVs so guests can sign into their own streaming accounts. Heat is provided by baseboard and wall units. There is no air conditioning, which is typical for Killington, but fans and cooler evening air with open windows work well for most summer stays. A whole-house water filtration system with UV treatment is a big plus in this area and means you can drink from the tap confidently.

Pets are allowed with a fee, so you do not have to leave the dog at home. The flat driveway and parking area are plowed in winter and can comfortably fit about eight cars, which is helpful for groups arriving in multiple vehicles. The Outpost is in a residential area with neighbors, so no parties or events are allowed, and quiet hours run from 10pm to 8am. Outdoor security cameras monitor the driveway only; there are no cameras inside. After booking, you will receive a digital Boarding Pass with directions, parking and entry details for both levels, tips for using the mudroom and gear storage, and local recommendations around Killington and Pico.
